SCM Process Specialist

About the role

ArcelorMittal Liberia is seeking a Process Specialist for Supply Chain Management (SCM) to lead strategic sourcing initiatives and optimise procurement processes across the mining operation. The role focuses on delivering value, ensuring supply continuity, and reducing risk while adhering to corporate governance and ethical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end sourcing projects for assigned commodities, including market analysis, needs assessment, RFP/RFQ development and bidder evaluation.
• Develop and execute negotiation strategies using cost‑breakdown analysis and total cost of ownership (TCO) models to optimise pricing, payment terms and service levels.
• Monitor commodity market trends, supplier financial health and geopolitical factors to proactively manage supply risks.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations and Finance to standardise materials, drive cost reduction and improve efficiency through consolidation.
• Periodically review and update SCM processes, adopting best‑in‑class practices and eliminating non‑value‑adding steps.
• Draft, review and finalise commercial contracts with Legal, ensuring clear terms, conditions and performance clauses.
• Manage key supplier relationships, monitor performance against KPIs and conduct regular business reviews.
• Ensure all purchasing activities comply with ArcelorMittal’s Code of Conduct, governance rules and ethical sourcing policies, and implement risk mitigation plans for critical suppliers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in strategic sourcing, procurement or supply chain management within an industrial or mining environment.
• Strong analytical skills for market analysis, cost modelling and risk assessment.
• Excellent negotiation and contract management capabilities.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, operations and finance teams.
• Knowledge of corporate governance, ethical sourcing policies and compliance requirements.
