BigCommerce Architect

About the role

We are seeking a BigCommerce Architect or Senior Engineer to lead the design and implementation of extensions, plugins, and custom integrations on the BigCommerce platform. The specialist will work closely with our technical team to ensure robust, scalable solutions that meet business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse business and technical requirements and define the optimal BigCommerce extension or plugin strategy.
• Recommend architecture, integration patterns, and API usage tailored to platform limitations.
• Provide guidance during discovery, planning, and implementation phases, helping the engineering team make informed decisions.
• Identify risks, constraints, and best‑practice recommendations to ensure high‑quality delivery.
• Support the team with technical troubleshooting and knowledge transfer throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience developing BigCommerce apps, extensions, plugins, or custom integrations.
• Deep understanding of BigCommerce APIs, storefront customization, and overall platform architecture.
• Proven ability to consult, explain technical trade‑offs, and mentor engineering teams.
• Experience with e‑commerce platforms and third‑party integrations.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
