Chief Mate – Container Vessel (Worldwide)

About the role

The client is looking for an experienced Chief Mate to join a container vessel operating worldwide. The position starts at the beginning of September and offers a four‑month contract with a possible one‑month extension at the owner's discretion.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the captain in the safe navigation and operation of a container ship.
• Supervise deck crew and oversee cargo handling procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory standards on board.

Required profile

• At least 12 months of experience in a comparable rank on a container vessel.
• Valid STCW certification.
• Current medical certificate (Italian endorsement preferred).
• Strong command of English.
