About the role

Aligned is seeking expert consultants to support frontier AI research by applying atmospheric science expertise. This part‑time, fully‑remote position involves evaluating AI models on advanced scientific problems.

Key responsibilities

• Stress‑test leading AI models on research‑level atmospheric science problems.
• Create and verify complex questions and explanations within your domain of expertise.
• Assess whether AI‑generated reasoning meets the standards of a trained atmospheric scientist.

Required profile

• PhD in Atmospheric Science, Meteorology, Climate Science, or a closely related field.
• Active involvement in computational research, such as faculty, post‑doctoral, or research scientist positions.
• Experience in university, government agency, national laboratory, or industry settings that focus on atmospheric modeling.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with computational modeling.
• Proficiency in simulation of atmospheric processes.
• Ability to conduct large‑scale data analysis.

What we offer
