Country Coordinator – Liberia

About the role

IITA is seeking a Country Coordinator for Liberia to lead the implementation of the I‑Youth 2.0 project. The coordinator will act as the national custodian of the Youth in Agribusiness (IYA) model, strengthening networks of youth agripreneurs and linking local activities to the continental IYA network.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall strategic direction and leadership for the I‑Youth 2.0 project in Liberia.
• Develop and execute annual work plans, budgets, procurement and operational schedules.
• Supervise technical interventions across capacity building, enterprise development, workforce development, digital transformation, M&E, communication and safeguarding.
• Lead and manage the country project team, including field coordinators, ensuring performance management and staff development.
• Ensure timely implementation of activities in line with donor agreements, institutional policies and quality standards.
• Engage with national and sub‑national government bodies, development partners, private sector, financial institutions, research and educational institutions, and civil society.
• Establish and nurture strategic partnerships to support project sustainability, investment and scaling.
• Oversee the establishment and performance of Agribusiness Parks and enterprise incubation initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading multi‑stakeholder agricultural or development projects.
• Strong knowledge of youth entrepreneurship, agribusiness and rural development contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, donor compliance and procurement processes.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and partnership building skills.
• Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams and delivering results on schedule.
