About the role
Join our offshore team as a Deck Foreman Trainee on fallpipe or stone‑dumping vessels. You will learn to build, operate, and dismantle the fallpipe system while supporting deck operations and preparing for a future supervisory position.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate the build‑up, operation, and break‑up of the fallpipe system under the Deck Foreman’s supervision.
- Motivate and guide the deckhand crew during all deck operations.
- Ensure deck activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in line with procedures and instructions.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the deck crew and vessel officers.
- Familiarise yourself with the company’s VMS, risk assessments, and work procedures.
- Create work permits using the Maximo software system.
- Promote safety and environmental protection policies on board.
- Monitor working conditions and intervene proactively to prevent unsafe situations.
- Plan and assign daily tasks, ensuring adequate manpower and clear instructions.
- Report and rectify unsafe practices, maintaining deck order, cleanliness, and equipment readiness.
- Participate in all training programmes, drills, and adhere to fallpipe manuals.
- Contribute to a positive working atmosphere and strong teamwork.
Required profile
- Engineering or technical education preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands‑on professional with a practical mindset and comfort working on deck.
- Desire to learn how to guide a team safely in a demanding offshore environment.
- Ability to lead by example, communicate clearly, and stay calm under pressure.
- Strong safety awareness, flexibility, responsibility, and computer literacy.
