Driver (G-2) – Monrovia

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a qualified Driver (G‑2) to provide safe and reliable transportation for staff, migrants and other mission personnel in Monrovia, Liberia. The role supports IOM’s humanitarian operations by ensuring timely travel and vehicle readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Transport IOM staff, migrants and goods to designated locations across Liberia.
• Maintain and perform minor repairs on assigned vehicles, ensuring roadworthiness.
• Operate HF and VHF radios for communication during missions.
• Plan routes using knowledge of local road networks and traffic conditions.
• Assist with loading and unloading of equipment and supplies.

Required profile

• High school diploma (or higher) with at least two years of relevant driving experience.
• Valid Liberian driver’s licence; defensive‑driving certificate is desirable.
• Ability to work independently, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines.
• Flexibility to work weekends and after‑hours when required.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

• Proficiency in operating a variety of vehicle makes and models.
• Vehicle maintenance and minor repair skills.
• HF/VHF radio operation.
• Defensive driving techniques.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
