General Manager: Mobile Financial Services

About the role

The General Manager, Mobile Financial Services will lead the strategic expansion of MTN Liberia’s financial services portfolio, focusing on mobile money. Reporting directly to the CEO, the role is responsible for defining and executing the financial services strategy, driving usage penetration, and ensuring operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the financial services strategy in line with MTN Liberia’s overall objectives.
• Deliver business goals set by the Executive Committee, ensuring alignment with the group’s strategy.
• Lead the growth of Mobile Money and other financial services through a clear strategic plan and structured approach.
• Foster a partnership mindset across MTN functions and external stakeholders, adhering to Group governance.
• Analyse competitive landscape, market trends, costs and forecasts to shape the business plan.
• Provide overall direction for financial services, translating insights into actionable initiatives.
• Source, induct and nurture talent according to MTN guidelines.
• Maintain open communication channels and manage change initiatives as needed.
• Define roles, responsibilities, individual goals and performance objectives for the team.
• Set SMART KPIs and deliver regular performance feedback through a structured review process.
• Design and implement training programmes to build team capabilities.
