Information Extraction Specialist

About the role

The Information Extraction Specialist will design, build, and maintain pipelines that transform unstructured and semi‑structured data into structured, actionable datasets. You will work with a variety of document types, from legal contracts to medical records, applying state‑of‑the‑art NLP and machine‑learning techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement extraction pipelines for diverse document domains.
• Lead the creation of high‑quality training datasets, including annotation schema definition and quality assurance.
• Evaluate model performance using precision, recall, F1 and iterate on guidelines, data, or architecture.
• Assess and integrate open‑source and commercial extraction tools.
• Develop scripts and automated workflows to streamline the extraction process.
• Adapt extraction systems quickly to new domains by acquiring necessary domain knowledge.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in information extraction, NLP, or computational linguistics.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and NLP tasks.
• Experience designing annotation schemas and clear extraction guidelines.
• Strong analytical skills to diagnose model errors and propose data‑driven improvements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
