Manager, MLE, KMC Consultant

About the role

Evidence Action is launching a pilot to strengthen Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) implementation in Liberia. The Manager, MLE, KMC Consultant will lead technical assistance through Ministry of Health structures, building government capacity to monitor, sustain, and scale high‑quality KMC practices across health facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and oversee the KMC technical assistance pilot, aligning with WHO guidelines and national policy.
• Collaborate with the Ministry of Health, hospital leadership, and frontline staff to develop and institutionalize KMC protocols.
• Create and manage a monitoring, learning, and evaluation (MLE) framework to track implementation fidelity and outcomes.
• Provide training and mentorship to health workers on KMC techniques and data collection.
• Collect, analyze, and report data to inform continuous improvement and evidence‑based decision‑making.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in global health, maternal and child health, or related fields.
• Proven track record in program management and MLE within low‑resource settings.
• Familiarity with WHO recommendations for Kangaroo Mother Care.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with government partners and local health teams.
