Network Operations Center (NOC) Operator Internship

About the role

We are looking for a motivated matriculant or university student to join our Network Operations Center as an intern. The role offers hands‑on exposure to 24/7 network monitoring, basic troubleshooting and client‑service processes within a professional IT environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in continuous monitoring of network devices and services, learning to identify alerts and anomalies.
• Shadow experienced NOC Operators and Network Engineers to observe initial troubleshooting steps.
• Document network configurations, procedures and troubleshooting actions accurately.
• Support the team in handling basic network‑related tickets, ensuring clear communication.
• Participate in training sessions and workshops to build foundational networking knowledge.
• Perform simple administrative tasks related to network operations.
• Help maintain an organized and clean NOC workspace.
• Observe client interactions and understand Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Collaborate with team members on operational tasks and small projects.

Required profile

• Matric certificate with strong interest in IT, or enrolment in a university program in IT, Computer Science or Networking.
• Basic understanding of computer systems and curiosity about how networks work.
• Eagerness to learn, proactive attitude and good problem‑solving mindset.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team, reliable and punctual.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
• Any prior exposure to IT concepts or networking projects is an advantage.
