Retained Legal Counsel for Non‑Profit Organization

About the role

WaterAid Liberia seeks a reputable law firm that is a member of the Liberian National Bar Association to serve as its retained legal counsel for a twelve‑month period. The firm will act as the primary legal advisor and representative for the organization on a range of matters affecting its operations in Liberia.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal representation for WaterAid Liberia in courts, administrative hearings, and other forums.
• Review, draft, and revise contractual and policy documents.
• Offer timely legal advice, updates, and opinions on both external and internal matters, including compliance with national laws.
• Monitor legislative changes that could impact the organization’s activities and advise accordingly.
• Maintain an attorney‑client relationship in accordance with Liberian law throughout the contract term.

Required profile

• Registered law firm operating under the Laws of the Republic of Liberia.
• Member of the Liberian National Bar Association.
• Demonstrated experience providing comprehensive legal services to NGOs or similar entities.
• Ability to allocate qualified lawyers and support staff to meet the client’s needs.
