Strategic Partnerships and Civil Society Engagement Manager

About the role

Plan International Liberia is seeking a Strategic Partnerships and Civil Society Engagement Manager to lead the development and maintenance of collaborative relationships with government, donors, civil society, and private‑sector partners. The role is pivotal in advancing child rights and gender equality through innovative partnerships, advocacy, and capacity‑building initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Position Plan International Liberia as a trusted partner with government, donors, and external actors to influence policy and strengthen collaboration.
• Support and empower civil‑society organizations, building networks that advocate for systemic change.
• Strengthen the skills and effectiveness of civil‑society partners and Plan staff to improve program delivery and organizational resilience.
• Ensure community‑managed projects remain impactful beyond donor funding or Plan’s direct presence.
• Drive initiatives that empower communities and local organisations to address issues affecting children and marginalized groups.

Required profile

• Proven experience in partnership development, stakeholder engagement, or related fields within the development sector.
• Strong understanding of child rights, gender equality, and the humanitarian context in Liberia.
• Ability to work collaboratively with government, donor agencies, civil‑society groups, and private‑sector partners.
• Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
