Financial Comptroller – Public Sector

About the role

The National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority (NaFAA) is the statutory body responsible for managing Liberia’s fisheries and aquaculture resources sustainably. NaFAA seeks a qualified Financial Comptroller to strengthen financial management, ensure compliance, and provide transparent reporting to government and development partners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational oversight of all financial management functions.
• Ensure fiscal discipline, internal controls, and accurate financial reporting to management, oversight institutions, and donors.
• Maintain compliance with the Public Financial Management (PFM) Act of Liberia, donor requirements, IFRS, and other financial laws.
• Oversee budget preparation, treasury management, audit coordination, and financial reporting.
• Lead a team to uphold high standards of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent (strongly preferred).
• 7–10 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably in the public sector or donor‑funded institutions.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial laws and audit compliance.
• Demonstrated experience in budget preparation, financial reporting, audit coordination and treasury management.
• High level of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail.
