Financial Coordinator

About the role

The Financial Coordinator will lead the month‑end and year‑end financial processes, support budget preparation, and ensure accurate financial reporting for Prairie Mountain Health. This role combines operational finance management with policy development within a health‑care environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, plan, and maintain the financial system.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end processing, including reconciliations and reporting.
• Prepare the operating budget and assist with annual budget cycles.
• Produce and distribute financial reports to internal stakeholders.
• Provide finance support and training to facility and program staff.
• Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of year‑end audit working‑paper files.
• Contribute to the development and revision of finance policies and procedures.
• Analyze payroll variances and complete wage templates.
• Supervise Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Financial Assistant staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Certificate from a recognized Business Education program or enrollment in an accounting program at the second to third level, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in health‑care accounting is an asset.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory ability.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience in employee and labour relations.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team‑based environment.
• Experience initiating changes and improvements in a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) setting.
• Strong organizational, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills.
