Group Exercise Instructor (Zumba)

About the role

The Group Exercise Instructor leads energizing Zumba classes on Wednesday evenings at 5:30 pm, creating a safe and enjoyable environment that supports member wellness and engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead fun, educational group fitness classes in accordance with YMCA policies and safety procedures.
• Maintain accurate attendance records, incident reports, and ensure proper storage of audio and studio equipment.
• Build authentic relationships with members, encouraging participation in YMCA programs and annual support campaigns.

Required profile

• Ability to perform essential duties safely, including leading classes, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.
• Strong communication skills for speaking to groups and interpreting written safety and procedural documents.
• At least one year of experience teaching group wellness classes is preferred.

Required skills

• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• National Group Fitness certification or YMCA Foundation Group Exercise certification.
• Any additional program‑specific certifications required at hire.
