About the role
The Ministry of Education in Liberia seeks a qualified Legal Counsel to provide expert legal advice and support across all operational areas. This full‑time, on‑site position will help ensure that the Ministry’s activities comply with national laws and international standards while supporting its mission to improve education outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, memoranda of understanding and other legal documents.
- Monitor regulatory developments and ensure the Ministry’s compliance with corporate, contract and regulatory law.
- Provide legal counsel on internal and external matters, including risk management and dispute resolution.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support policy decisions and program implementation.
- Collaborate with senior management to align legal strategies with organizational goals.
Required profile
- Registered and licensed to practice law in Liberia.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); a higher law degree is an advantage.
- Proven experience in corporate, contract and regulatory law.
- Strong advocacy, problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
