Programme Associate - Spotlight Initiative

About the role

The Spotlight Initiative, a UN-EU partnership to end violence against women and girls, is implementing its second phase (2024-2028) in Liberia through a multi-stakeholder, multi-year programme managed by a Programme Coordination and Management Unit (PMCU) in the UN Resident Coordinator's Office. The Resident Coordinator's Office is recruiting a Programme Associate to support programme implementation, stakeholder engagement, advocacy, knowledge management, reporting and results tracking, supporting both the Spotlight team in the Resident Coordinator's office and the RUNOs technical teams in UNDP, UNFPA and UN Women.

Key responsibilities

• Support programme implementation: follow up workplans, activities and commitments, track progress, prepare meeting materials, minutes and action trackers, and maintain a repository of decisions and commitments.
• Stakeholder engagement and advocacy: help organize dialogues, campaigns and donor visits, prepare briefing notes, position papers and engagement packages, and maintain stakeholder databases.
• Knowledge management and reporting: document achievements and lessons learned, compile RUNO inputs, and assist in progress reports, donor reports and knowledge products.
• Administrative support: handle travel arrangements, mission planning, procurement requests, records and correspondence, and coordinate with support units across UN agencies.
• Event management: coordinate workshops, trainings, conferences and launches, including venue, accommodation, catering, registration and materials.
• Programme delivery: monitor implementation against workplans and results budgets and flag delays and accountability gaps.

The Programme Associate works under the direct supervision of the Spotlight Initiative Programme Specialist/Coordinator and collaborates with the Programme Management Team, RUNOs, implementing partners and other programme and operations teams.
