Rail Performance and Planning Specialist

About the role

ArcelorMittal Liberia is seeking a Rail Performance and Planning Specialist to monitor, analyze and improve rail operational performance. The role will convert operational and maintenance data into actionable insights to support safe, stable and cost‑effective delivery of production targets as the company scales its mining output.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain daily, weekly and monthly rail performance dashboards and track key operational KPIs.
• Identify performance deviations, provide early‑warning alerts and conduct root‑cause analysis for major delays and failures.
• Support train scheduling analysis, fleet utilization modelling and throughput planning to address bottlenecks across loading, transit and off‑loading.
• Monitor rail OPEX against budgets, track major cost drivers (fuel, spares, contractors) and support cost‑per‑ton analysis.
• Identify and maintain a rail risk register, conduct trend analysis on safety incidents and support mitigation planning.
• Coordinate with Operations, Rolling Stock and Infrastructure teams, facilitate performance review meetings and communicate trends, risks and constraints to rail leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience in rail performance monitoring and production planning.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Experience conducting structured root‑cause analysis and managing reliability trends.
• Familiarity with budgeting, cost management and risk assessment in rail operations.
• Effective stakeholder coordination and communication abilities.
