Senior DevOps Engineer – Remote (FinTech)

About the role

Social Discovery Group is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join its FinTech team. You will work remotely with a global, distributed team to design, build, and operate highly reliable cloud platforms that power social discovery products used by millions worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and scale Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform with a modular layered architecture.
• Design, implement, and standardize CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps (YAML‑first, reusable templates).
• Operate and continuously improve Kubernetes (AKS) clusters, handling lifecycle, reliability, and upgrades.
• Implement GitOps practices, ensuring PR‑driven workflows and a single source of truth for infrastructure.
• Enhance platform security through secretless authentication, least‑privilege access, and Azure Key Vault integration.
• Drive automation and observability using tools such as Datadog and the LGTM stack.
• Contribute to engineering culture through code reviews, mentoring, and sharing best practices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform, or SRE roles.
• 3+ years hands‑on experience with Azure as the primary cloud, including multi‑subscription environments.
• Strong production experience with Kubernetes (multi‑environment, SLA‑driven workloads).
• 2+ years building modular Terraform architectures.
• Solid experience with Azure DevOps pipelines (YAML‑first, reusable templates).
• Hands‑on experience with Helm, GitOps, and IaC best practices.
• Experience mentoring team members, conducting code reviews, and sharing knowledge.
• Production on‑call experience and understanding of incident response.
• Ability to thrive in low‑process environments and establish structure from scratch.
• Proactive, mature mindset with strong ownership.
