Senior Software Engineer (NodeJS, AWS)

About the role

Social Discovery Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate high‑scale, server‑less solutions for its worldwide social discovery platforms. You will work remotely with a diverse, global team to deliver reliable, performant services that power millions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product owners and engineers to define optimal solutions balancing timeline, resources, and quality.
• Design and decompose high‑level architecture and implementation plans.
• Implement technical solutions, including DevOps practices such as monitoring, security, logging, and scalability.
• Deploy and maintain services on AWS, handling infrastructure, moderation pipelines, and AI integrations.
• Monitor production systems, resolve incidents, and continuously improve stability and performance.
• Reduce technical debt and introduce new technologies and engineering practices.
• Review architectural decisions, maintain code quality, and evolve CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• 3+ years of production experience with TypeScript and Node.js (ESM).
• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS CDK v2 for infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Deep knowledge of AWS serverless services (Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, SQS, DynamoDB, S3, EventBridge).
• Solid understanding of event‑driven architectures and asynchronous processing patterns.
• Experience writing automated tests (Jest, preferably BDD frameworks such as Cucumber).
• Ability to design and document technical solutions (specs, diagrams).
• English proficiency at B1 level or higher.
