Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator

About the role

The Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator will support community relations and stakeholder engagement programmes for a new gold mining project in Liberia. Reporting to the Community Relations Manager, the role acts as a bridge between the project, affected communities, traditional leaders, and government authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate community meetings, consultations, focus groups and awareness sessions.
• Support the implementation of the Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) and related community programmes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, traditional leaders, local authorities and other stakeholders.
• Ensure engagement activities are inclusive, culturally appropriate and aligned with project commitments.
• Monitor community concerns, stakeholder feedback and emerging social risks, escalating issues when required.
• Maintain accurate stakeholder databases, engagement records, commitments and follow‑up actions.
• Prepare engagement reports, dashboards, meeting minutes and other documentation.
• Supervise Community Liaison Officers and field personnel.
• Collaborate with project teams including Resettlement, Environment, Land Access, Livelihood Restoration and Legal.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Sociology, Anthropology, Development Studies, Community Development, Communications, Public Relations, Natural Resources Management or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in stakeholder engagement, community relations, social performance, resettlement or community development.
• Experience working with rural communities, traditional leadership structures and local authorities.
• Previous experience in mining, infrastructure, energy, agriculture or major development projects is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with international social performance standards, particularly IFC Performance Standard 5, is an advantage.
