Volunteer Secretary General & Leadership Mentor

About the role

The European Chamber of Commerce in Liberia (ECCL) seeks a seasoned business leader to serve as Volunteer Secretary General and Leadership Mentor. This part‑time, flexible position (15–20 hours per week) runs for 12 to 18 months and offers a high‑visibility platform to shape Liberia’s private‑sector development.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the ECCL President and Board to drive advocacy, membership growth, and governance strategies.
• Represent ECCL in high‑level meetings with the EU Delegation, diplomatic missions, government ministries, and corporate CEOs.
• Lead the recruitment and mentorship of a Liberian Junior Administrative Assistant who will be groomed to succeed as the next Secretary General.

Required profile

• Proven management, leadership, or diplomatic experience.
• Strong understanding of corporate governance, public‑private dialogue, or advocacy.
• Passion for mentorship, talent development, and capacity building.
• Exceptional cross‑cultural communication skills and professional presence.
