Associate General Counsel – Legal Department

About the role

World Vision International is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join its global legal team. The role supports the organization’s mission to help vulnerable children worldwide by providing expert legal advice and risk management. This position can be performed remotely from any U.S. state where World Vision is registered.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel and services under the direction of the General Counsel and in coordination with the Legal Department.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and manage legal risk for World Vision International and its partnership network.
• Assist with cross‑border, multijurisdictional matters and support employment law issues.

Required profile

• US Juris Doctorate or foreign equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a practicing attorney.
• Strong foundation in legal theory, problem identification, practical advice, negotiation, research, and written/oral communication.
• Experience working with outside counsel, preferably with global exposure and cross‑cultural sensitivity.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Admission to the California Bar preferred; candidates licensed in other jurisdictions may be considered.
