About the role

Physical Review E (PRE) seeks a part‑time Associate Editor with an international reputation in statistical physics. The role involves overseeing the peer‑review process for manuscripts in statistical, nonlinear, complex systems, and related areas.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full peer‑review workflow for 300‑400 manuscripts per year, from submission to final decision.
• Maintain and expand relationships with researchers in statistical physics and related disciplines.
• Contribute to increasing the journal’s visibility and reputation in the field.
• Collaborate with the editorial team and ensure timely handling of assignments.

Required profile

• Active research involvement and recognized standing in statistical physics or closely related areas.
• Demonstrated excellence as a manuscript reviewer and commitment to peer review.
• Ability to work consistently on editorial duties while retaining a current academic position.
• Willingness to uphold the quality and reputation of the journal.
