Safeguarding & Safe and Dignified Programming Advisor I

About the role

The Safeguarding & Safe and Dignified Programming (SSDP) Advisor supports the Country Program in implementing CRS’s safeguarding policy and mainstreaming protection across all activities. This position ensures that safeguarding standards and MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Learning) procedures are met and exceeded in both relief and development programming.

Key responsibilities

• Provide tools, technical support and capacity‑building to the Country Program for effective safeguarding implementation.
• Ensure protection mainstreaming guidelines are applied in all programmatic areas.
• Monitor and uphold safeguarding program quality standards and related MEAL policies.
• Collaborate with the Ethics Unit’s Global Safeguarding Advisors and the Humanitarian Response Department for guidance and technical assistance.
• Support the development and documentation of safeguarding‑related procedures and reporting mechanisms.

Required profile

• Commitment to CRS’s Code of Conduct and safeguarding principles.
• Willingness to work in Liberia and to engage with local staff and communities.
• Ability to receive and apply guidance from global safeguarding advisors.
