About the role
The Deputy Country Director (DCD) supports the Country Director in leading Samaritans Purse’s operations in Liberia. This senior position ensures strategic alignment, operational efficiency, and faithful stewardship of resources while fostering a spiritually healthy field team.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Country Director in shaping and implementing the country office strategy and vision.
- Oversee field office operations, budget management, and financial reporting.
- Guide Program Development Officer and Program Managers on proposals, budgets, and implementation monitoring.
- Conduct monthly site visits to assess project progress, compliance, and address operational challenges.
- Provide regular performance, risk, and lessons‑learned reports to senior leadership and donors.
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities for current and new projects.
- Support security monitoring, disaster preparedness, and safeguarding initiatives.
- Supervise 3‑5 senior staff and 1‑3 junior staff, handling recruitment, performance appraisal, and disciplinary actions.
Required profile
- Active personal relationship with Jesus Christ and ability to serve as a consistent witness.
- Extensive senior‑level experience in humanitarian or non‑profit management.
- Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and manage complex budgets.
- Strong communication skills for engagement with donors, government agencies, and partner organizations.
- Commitment to integrity, accountability, and safeguarding of beneficiaries.
