Global Health Security Technical Advisor I – Zoonoses & AMR

About the role

The Global Health Security Technical Advisor I – Zoonoses & AMR will provide technical leadership for the STRIDES project in Liberia, strengthening integrated surveillance of zoonotic diseases and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) across human and animal health sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation and assessment of zoonotic disease and AMR surveillance systems.
• Support development and revision of SOPs, guidelines and surveillance plans for both human and animal health laboratories.
• Provide training and technical assistance to laboratory staff to improve detection of priority zoonoses and AMR.
• Facilitate integration of animal health data into national surveillance platforms and cross‑sectoral information systems.
• Assist with project design, budgeting, recruitment and administrative tasks such as manual updates and budget tracking.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in public health, veterinary medicine, epidemiology or a related field.
• Proven experience in One Health initiatives, zoonotic disease surveillance and AMR monitoring.
• Experience working with government ministries or international health projects in low‑resource settings.
