Senior Smart Contract Engineer

About the role

Ironclad Ledger is seeking a Senior Smart Contract Engineer to design, build, and deploy secure smart contracts on Ethereum and other EVM‑compatible networks. The role involves working on DeFi protocols, NFT marketplaces, and cross‑chain infrastructure in a fully remote setting, with the option of full‑time or part‑time (20+ hours/week) engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and deploy secure, efficient smart contracts on EVM chains such as Ethereum, Polygon and Arbitrum.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive test suites using Foundry or Hardhat to ensure contract security and functionality.
• Conduct internal security reviews and audits, identifying and mitigating potential attack vectors before feature development.
• Perform gas‑optimization analysis to keep execution costs low.
• Document architecture decisions, design patterns and technical specifications for all solutions.
• Stay current with the latest EIPs, security best practices and Web3 development tools.

Required profile

• 3 + years of professional experience shipping Solidity contracts to mainnet.
• Deep knowledge of EVM internals, storage layout and gas mechanics.
• Extensive experience with major token standards (ERC‑20, ERC‑721, ERC‑1155) and account abstraction (ERC‑4337).
• Proven use of modern development frameworks such as Foundry or Hardhat.
• Security‑first mindset with solid understanding of common vulnerabilities (reentrancy, overflow, access‑control).
• Demonstrated experience in at least two areas: DeFi protocols, token standards, access control or upgradeable contracts.
• Hands‑on experience with Cursor IDE and strong written and verbal communication for remote collaboration.
