Driver – Leaders In Teaching Liberia Program

About the role

The Education Development Center (EDC) is hiring two professional drivers to provide transport, administrative and logistical support for the Leaders In Teaching Liberia program staff, visitors and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Operate EDC vehicles safely to transport goods, staff and authorized passengers in line with company policies.
• Perform daily vehicle operation, maintenance and inspections, reporting any faults or damage promptly.
• Maintain accurate vehicle and fuel log sheets and submit monthly utilization reports.
• Prepare weekly control sheets, schedule repairs and conduct minor vehicle repairs as needed.
• Support cross‑functional teams across the country and undertake additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Minimum secondary school certificate or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of professional driving experience, preferably on donor‑funded projects.
• Valid driver’s license for all classes with a clean driving record.
• Fluency in English (read, speak, write) and ability to travel long distances, often overnight.
• High integrity, attention to detail and ability to remain calm in high‑stress situations.

Required skills

• Defensive driving training.
• Basic computer skills for record‑keeping.
• Vehicle maintenance and minor repair capability.
• Experience driving four‑wheel‑drive vehicles on unpaved rural roads.
