About the role
The Engine Cadet will join a Bahamas‑flagged vehicle carrier for a 6‑month rotation, supporting the engine department on a modern MAN B&W 7S60ME propulsion system. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience aboard a 58,767 GT vessel operating worldwide.
Key responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers with daily operation and monitoring of the main engine and auxiliary machinery.
- Participate in routine maintenance, inspections and repairs under supervision.
- Record operational data, fuel consumption and performance logs.
- Support watch‑keeping duties and ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures.
Required profile
- Possession of valid STCW certificates.
- Current medical fitness certificate.
- Proficient command of English.
Required skills
- Basic understanding of marine engineering principles.
