External Lead – Growth, Marketing & Partnerships

About the role

Eshango, a Liberian fintech building a financial growth platform, is looking for an External Lead to own all outward‑facing activities – customers, marketing, partnerships and community engagement. The role is field‑based, spending most of the week in the communities we serve.

Key responsibilities

• Design and lead customer acquisition strategy across target Liberian communities.
• Conduct in‑person research to understand why customers stop using the platform and drive re‑activation.
• Build and manage a stakeholder register and schedule participation in relevant community forums.
• Identify, negotiate and activate partnerships that provide real access to financial services.
• Test and iterate messaging based on field feedback, ensuring it resonates with users.
• Collaborate with the Internal Lead on customer retention metrics and with the Tech Lead on product direction.
• Represent Eshango in external meetings, events and stakeholder engagements.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading growth, marketing or partnership functions in emerging markets or fintech.
• Strong community‑engagement skills with a track record of building trust in low‑formal‑finance environments.
• Ability to work autonomously, travel frequently and adapt to resource‑constrained settings.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Passion for financial inclusion and a data‑driven mindset.
