Field Security Coordinator

About the role

The Field Security Coordinator will support World Vision’s mission to protect vulnerable children by managing security operations across multiple offices and field sites. The role involves reporting, risk assessment, capacity building, and liaison with external security networks.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare regular security reports for the Zonal Office in Goma, the National Office in Kinshasa, and the Southern Africa Region Office in Johannesburg, ensuring incidents are logged per WV Security Policy.
• Coordinate the development and implementation of security capacity‑building plans based on local risk assessments, fostering a culture of security awareness.
• Lead security risk assessments, maintain country risk ratings, and ensure core security requirements are met in line with Office of Safety Security guidelines.
• Support crisis management, conduct security investigations, and provide technical advice for project budgeting and design.
• Represent World Vision at local NGO security networks, disseminate relevant information, and build partnerships for information sharing.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in context analysis, law enforcement or corporate security, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and analytical skills, able to manage 24/7 rotating teams and make decisions under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in French; additional languages are an asset.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and work independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience using survey management software for data collection and analysis.
