HR Manager – Lead Human Resources for Liberia Mining Project

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to establish and lead the Human Resources function for our new gold mining project in Liberia. Reporting to the Project Director and the Group HR VP, you will be responsible for building a high‑performing national workforce while ensuring compliance with Liberian labour legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Implement Group HR policies, procedures, and processes across the Liberia project.
• Ensure compliance with Liberian labour laws and employment regulations.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning for national employees.
• Develop local recruitment channels and maintain relationships with communities, universities, and training centres.
• Identify capability gaps and implement training, development, and localisation programmes.
• Support succession planning and development of high‑potential national staff.
• Provide HR guidance to managers on workforce and organisational matters.
• Manage employee and labour relations, including disciplinary and grievance processes.
• Coordinate HR administration, payroll inputs, employee records, benefits administration, and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or related field; professional HR certification is a plus.
• Minimum 8‑10 years of HR experience, with strong recruitment, workforce planning and development background.
• Demonstrated experience in employee and labour relations, preferably in mining, construction or similar industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of Liberian labour legislation.
• Fluent English (written and spoken); French is an advantage.
