General Manager – Operations

About the role

The General Manager – Operations will lead end‑to‑end execution of EPC projects across West Africa, overseeing delivery, profitability, client relations and organizational development. This senior, hands‑on leader will manage multi‑country projects, multicultural teams, subcontractors and remote engineering/procurement coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Lead execution of multiple EPC projects (tank farms, terminals, pipelines, utilities, industrial buildings) ensuring cost, schedule, quality and safety targets are met.
• Oversee operations across several West African countries, standardising systems, reporting and logistics.
• Coordinate with engineering and procurement to release designs, manage long‑lead items and resolve technical/commercial issues.
• Monitor commercial performance, manage variation claims, EOT requests, subcontractor claims and client negotiations.
• Provide on‑site leadership to project, construction and discipline managers, ensuring effective coordination of civil, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing multi‑country EPC projects in challenging, developing markets.
• Strong commercial understanding and ability to drive profitability.
• Leadership maturity to operate independently and manage multicultural teams.
• Commitment to safety, budget control and schedule adherence.
