Opportunity Scoping and Market Research Consultant

About the role

The CERATH Development Organization (CDO) is seeking an experienced consultant to lead an opportunity‑scoping and market‑research study on cassava products and derivatives in Liberia. This consultancy will support the Cassava Transformation Project (CASTRAP), the national component of the EU‑funded West Africa Competitiveness Programme.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive market analysis of cassava‑based products and their value chains.
• Identify commercial opportunities, market gaps, and potential export pathways.
• Assess social and environmental implications of proposed interventions.
• Prepare a detailed report with actionable recommendations for project stakeholders.
• Coordinate with local partners and provide capacity‑building inputs where needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in agricultural market research, preferably within West Africa.
• Strong understanding of cassava value chains and derivative markets.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high‑quality analytical outputs.
• Excellent written communication skills in English.
