Senior Backend Developer (Python/Django)

About the role

BlancVPN is looking for a Senior Backend Developer to build the systems that protect hundreds of thousands of users' privacy. You will own services built on Python 3, Django, PostgreSQL, Redis and Celery, ensuring they are fast, reliable and maintainable.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services, product APIs, billing, back‑office scenarios and internal admin tools.
• Design PostgreSQL schemas, manage migrations, optimise heavy queries and ensure data consistency.
• Use Redis for caching, task coordination, rate‑limiting and operational state; build reporting and event‑processing flows.
• Run migrations across Django and Alembic services, improve monitoring, logging, alerts and debugging.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, infrastructure and support teams for safe, predictable releases.

Required profile

• Fluent in Russian and English (B2+).
• Strong commercial experience with Python 3 and hands‑on Django.
• Confident with PostgreSQL schema design, indexes, migrations and query optimisation.
• Experience with Redis for caching, queues and high‑load scenarios.
• Understanding of observability, Docker, CI/CD and production deployment.
