Community Family Navigator

About the role

The Community Family Navigator will be the first point of contact for families, helping them identify needs, access services and navigate support pathways across Coin Street, Family Hubs and partner organisations. You will work within a friendly team to build strong relationships with families and local service providers, empowering families to thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Connect families with relevant services offered by voluntary, community, faith, education and health organisations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local services, schools, early years providers and health and social care partners.
• Promote meaningful engagement and strengthen community connections.
• Provide practical, compassionate support that empowers families to access opportunities and activities.
• Maintain accurate records using IT systems and databases.

Required profile

• Full Level 3 qualification (or above) in childhood or health studies.
• Experience working with children aged 0‑5 and their families.
• Knowledge of trauma‑informed practice and adverse childhood experiences.
• Experience collaborating with a range of professionals and community organisations.
• Positive, proactive and enthusiastic attitude.
• Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
• Competence using IT, databases and other computer‑based applications.
