Driver Officer for Evidence Action

About the role

The Driver Officer provides safe, reliable, and timely transportation for the Liberia Country Team, guests, and authorised riders, supporting Evidence Action’s SFS and KMC programs across Monrovia and all 15 counties.

Key responsibilities

• Transport staff, consultants, government counterparts and authorised visitors to meetings, health facilities and field sites while complying with Liberian traffic laws and Evidence Action policies.
• Plan routes considering road conditions, rainy‑season access, distance and security, and keep the office informed via check‑in procedures.
• Handle program commodities (e.g., test kits, training materials) safely, support loading/unloading, and ensure delivery documentation is signed.
• Conduct daily vehicle pre‑trip checks, record maintenance, report faults, and perform minor roadside repairs.
• Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks, fuel records, and ensure all vehicle documents are current.
• Provide administrative support such as delivering mail, supporting airport pick‑ups, and other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Minimum high school diploma (WASSCE) or equivalent.
• Valid Liberian driver’s licence for light and 4x4 vehicles.
• 3‑5 years professional driving experience, preferably with an NGO or international organization.
• Clean driving record with no serious accidents in the past five years.
• Fluent spoken and written English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.

Required skills

• Defensive driving certification (preferred).
• First‑aid training (preferred).
• Basic vehicle mechanics knowledge.
• Proficiency with smartphone GPS/maps and basic computer applications.
