Health & Sanitation Promotion Officer

About the role

The Health & Sanitation Promotion Officer will lead the planning and implementation of health and sanitation activities under the Community Livelihood Assistance Project (CLAP II) in Salayea District, Lofa County. The role works closely with local communities, health facilities and project partners to improve water access, latrine construction and health promotion.

Key responsibilities

• Support the CLAP team in delivering health and sanitation promotion activities.
• Identify suitable sites for hand‑pump wells and bath latrines, considering safety and health risks.
• Collect and analyse health data from local health posts and clinics to assess project impact.
• Maintain an inventory of clinics and health facilities in the district.
• Monitor contractors and service providers to ensure compliance with technical specifications for wells, aprons, culverts and hand pumps.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to plan, execute and update monthly work plans and reports.
• Attend district coordination meetings and liaise with county and district health teams.

Required profile

• University degree in social or applied sciences.
• Minimum three years of experience on donor‑funded projects in rural settings.
• Experience in community development programming.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Willingness to work in Salayea District and travel locally.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
