Import and Export Supervisor – Liberia

About the role

The Import and Export Supervisor oversees daily international shipping operations, ensuring accurate documentation and regulatory compliance for both incoming raw materials and outgoing finished goods. This position coordinates closely with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to keep the manufacturing supply chain running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the import/export documentation team, guaranteeing timely and accurate processing of shipments.
• Coordinate routing, booking, and tracking of ocean, air, and road freight from origin to destination.
• Serve as primary contact for freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to resolve delays, customs holds, or discrepancies.
• Review and verify shipping documents such as Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, and Certificates of Origin.
• Apply correct HS codes, Incoterms, and customs valuation rules.
• Maintain audit‑ready records of all import and export transactions.
• Collaborate with Warehouse, Production, and Procurement to align shipping schedules with inventory needs.
• Update the ERP system with real‑time tracking information and compile shipping cost and performance data for management reporting.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in international logistics, customs documentation, or freight forwarding within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• 1–2 years of supervisory or team‑lead experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for tracking and data analysis.
