Import & Export Manager – Global Trade Logistics

About the role

The Import & Export Manager will lead all international shipping activities, ensuring seamless customs compliance and efficient trade logistics for raw material inbound and finished‑goods outbound flows. This position is pivotal to keeping production lines running and delivering products to global markets on time.

Key responsibilities

• Guarantee that every import and export transaction complies with international trade laws, customs regulations, and local requirements.
• Classify goods using HS codes, manage tariffs, duties, and apply relevant trade agreements.
• Prepare and oversee mandatory documentation such as commercial invoices, bills of lading, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customs declarations.
• Coordinate with procurement, production, and sales to align shipping schedules with manufacturing timelines and customer delivery dates.
• Monitor global shipments in real‑time, troubleshoot delays, port congestion, or customs holds to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate transit inventory data within the ERP system.
• Negotiate freight rates, SLAs, and contracts with ocean carriers, airlines, trucking firms, and customs brokers.
• Audit customs entries and freight invoices to identify discrepancies and drive cost efficiency.
• Evaluate and select logistics partners based on performance, reliability, and cost.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in international logistics, customs compliance, or freight forwarding within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Export Specialist (CES) are highly preferred.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Experience using Global Trade Management (GTM) software.
• In‑depth knowledge of Incoterms, customs valuation, and import/export compliance frameworks.
