Lead Transshipment Vessels – Continuous Improvement Lead

About the role

ArcelorMittal Liberia is seeking a senior professional to lead the Continuous Improvement (CI) program for its marine and port operations. The role focuses on enhancing shiploading efficiency, reducing demurrage, and driving operational excellence while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the Continuous Improvement (CI) program for marine and port operations.
• Identify and eliminate process inefficiencies across shiploading, offshore loading, and material handling systems.
• Develop KPI dashboards and monitor performance against targets such as availability, productivity, OEE, cost per ton, vessel loading time, and demurrage.
• Coordinate root cause analysis (RCA) and reliability improvement projects in collaboration with maintenance and production teams.
• Support digitalization and automation initiatives related to vessel scheduling, loading optimization, and stockyard management.
• Implement and sustain a culture of Operational Excellence and Safety Leadership within marine operations.
• Conduct training and coaching of operational teams in continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, environmental standards, and maritime regulations (ISPS, IMO, local port authorities).
• Interface with stakeholders including Port Authority, Shipping, Logistics, Maintenance, HSE, Planning, and Engineering.

Required profile

• Proven experience in marine and port operations.
• Strong knowledge of maritime regulations such as ISPS and IMO.
• Demonstrated ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives and drive measurable results.
• Excellent analytical skills for root cause analysis and performance monitoring.
