Project Coordinator – Near Vision Scale-Up

About the role

Last Mile Health is seeking a Project Coordinator to lead the scale‑up of near‑vision reading glasses across nine counties in Liberia. The role will translate national eye‑health policy into consistent service delivery, aiming to reach roughly 3,000,000 people within two years.

Key responsibilities

• Provide continuous technical support to national, county, district and community level staff to ensure high‑quality implementation of screening and distribution.
• Plan, coordinate and oversee institution‑based near‑vision screening activities and the equitable distribution of reading glasses.
• Organise refresher trainings for Community Health Assistants and conduct quarterly supervision visits to assess service quality, data accuracy and protocol adherence.
• Collaborate with the MERL Specialist on data entry, monitoring, evaluation and knowledge‑management tools.
• Lead advocacy and demand‑generation activities with the Ministry of Health, County Health Teams and other partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing, community health or health services management (optometry background a plus).
• Proven experience coordinating county‑level health projects, working with national/sub‑national health systems and managing community health worker programs.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate complex stakeholder dynamics, solve problems proactively and meet deadlines.
• Strong knowledge‑management skills and proficiency with MS Office and Google Suite.

Required skills

• Familiarity with the Community Health Information System and DHIS2.
• Advanced use of MS Office applications.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace tools.
