Protection Associate – Casework (G5) in Monrovia

About the role

The Protection Associate – Casework will support vulnerable migrants in Liberia by conducting screening, referrals, and case management in line with IOM protection standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct screening interviews to identify migrants needing assistance and refer eligible beneficiaries to medical, psychosocial, legal, and reintegration services.
• Provide information on available services, distribute informational materials, and deliver individual and group orientation.
• Follow up with partners, maintain case files, compile reports, and support administrative and financial processes related to direct assistance.
• Assist with outreach activities, including urgent assistance in shelters and outside office hours.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Psychology, Political Science, Law or related field with at least two years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with four years of experience.
• Experience in protection case management for survivors of GBV, human trafficking, or children at risk in humanitarian or migration contexts.
• Experience working with vulnerable persons, including returnees or deported migrants, and coordinating referrals with local NGOs or government services.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IOM and inter‑agency protection standards, including IOM Case Management Guidelines.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and familiarity with case‑management tools such as MiMOSA.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in challenging conditions, and good written and verbal communication in English.
