Senior Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Senior Procurement Specialist supports the Procurement Agent Manager, leads high‑value and complex procurement packages, prepares and reviews procurement documentation, and mentors junior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Manage high‑value/complex procurement packages from inception to contract award.
• Prepare, review and improve bidding documents, evaluation reports and contracts.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to other procurement staff.
• Ensure compliance with donor‑funded regulatory frameworks such as World Bank, ADB or AfDB.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an internationally recognised procurement certification.
• Minimum 8 years of public procurement experience, including at least two projects developing and reviewing procurement documents.
• Experience with donor‑funded procurement frameworks (e.g., World Bank, ADB, AfDB).
• Fluent written and spoken English and strong interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• In‑depth understanding of procurement processes and contract management.
• Document drafting, evaluation and reporting expertise.
• Familiarity with international procurement standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
