Warehouse Superintendent

About the role

The Warehouse Superintendent will lead all warehouse activities, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, issue and distribution of materials while safeguarding company assets. This senior role coordinates daily operations, manages inventory accuracy and supports cross‑functional teams in a remote mining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee receiving, storage, binning, loading, unloading and issuing of materials.
• Implement and monitor warehouse control measures to protect assets and inventory.
• Plan, coordinate and control daily, weekly and monthly warehouse operational activities.
• Allocate storage and bin locations for new and existing stock in line with policies.
• Maintain high‑standard housekeeping and conduct regular stock takes and cycle counts.
• Ensure physical stock aligns with system inventory (SAP or equivalent ERP) and report discrepancies.
• Monitor stock levels, advise procurement of potential shortages and manage fuel stock distribution.
• Supervise, coach and schedule warehouse personnel, conduct team meetings and coordinate training.
• Prepare monthly performance, inventory and KPI reports and liaise with mining, maintenance, procurement, logistics and finance departments.
• Support internal and external audits and undertake special projects as directed.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Warehousing or related field.
• 5‑10 years of experience in warehousing, materials management or inventory control.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
• Experience in iron‑ore mining or heavy industry is highly desirable.
• Experience working in remote or isolated locations.

Required skills

• SAP (or equivalent ERP) for inventory management.
