Deputy Finance Manager (Liberian Nationals Only)

About the role

The Deputy Finance Manager will support the Country Program’s financial stewardship by overseeing accounting operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and managing cash resources to enable high‑quality programs for the poor and vulnerable.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee accounting processes, policies and service delivery while maintaining strong internal controls.
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions in compliance with CRS policies, GAAP, donor regulations and local laws.
• Maintain the financial accounting system with up‑to‑date exchange rates, cost allocation tools and transaction postings.
• Review and analyse financial reports, prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations and verify shared‑cost allocations.
• Work with staff and sub‑recipients to resolve irregularities, correct entries and support payroll accuracy.
• Act as the primary point of contact for financial transaction records, providing guidance and capacity‑building to ensure compliance.
• Generate and disseminate financial reports according to established schedules and assist with their analysis.
• Maintain an organized filing system that provides a clear audit trail.
• Monitor cash balances, prepare bank reconciliations and forecast cash needs to ensure sufficient operating funds.

Required profile

• Excellent oral and written English.
• Willingness to travel up to 20 % of the time.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and ethical conduct.
• Knowledge of local tax and regulatory reporting procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
• Experience with web‑conferencing applications.
