Migration Health Officer – Emergency Health Coordination

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) seeks a Migration Health Officer to lead and oversee health programming in emergency and recovery contexts. Reporting to the Chief of Mission and the Deputy RHAPC, the officer will coordinate with ministries, WHO, and implementing partners to ensure effective health services for migrants.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise the implementation of IOM’s Migration Health programme, ensuring alignment with emergency response and recovery frameworks.
• Provide strategic and technical guidance on outbreak preparedness, primary and secondary health care delivery, risk communication, and health infrastructure development.
• Supervise clinical and non‑clinical staff, conduct performance appraisals, and identify training needs.
• Develop and manage health projects in line with IOM policies, monitor budgets, and report on key performance indicators.
• Represent IOM in humanitarian health clusters, build partnerships with ministries, WHO, UNICEF, and NGOs, and integrate health considerations into broader sectoral activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Nursing, Medicine, Health Sciences, community or public health, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five years of relevant professional experience in health program management, emergency health operations, or migration health.
