Team Lead Data Engineer

About the role

Social Discovery Group is seeking a Team Lead Data Engineer to drive the design, development, and migration of data pipelines and reporting solutions across its global portfolio of social discovery products. You will lead a small engineering team, work remotely, and collaborate with marketing and product stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop Python services for marketing partner integration and data ingestion.
• Create, schedule, and maintain ETL workflows using Apache Airflow.
• Design, build, and support SQL data warehouses, stored procedures, and reporting layers (SSRS, Superset).
• Lead the migration of marketing data pipelines and DWH components from MS SQL to Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery).
• Contribute to architecture decisions, best‑practice guidelines, and performance optimization.

Required profile

• Management experience leading a small technical team.
• Strong SQL knowledge (window functions, subqueries, joins) and basic query‑optimization skills.
• At least one year of professional Python development.
• Hands‑on experience with MSSQL, SSRS, Superset (or similar BI tools), and Airflow.
• Practical experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and managed data services.
